About Us

The Liberty Cane Company is dedicated to the mission of "working to improve the quality of life for disabled individuals throughout the world." Our corporate offices are located in Naples, FL, and our manufacturing is done in Anne Arundel County, MD. After working for more than two years on perfecting a cane design that would free Mr. Coakley (Greeting) of the hassles associated with his daily cane dependency we are now ready to share our success with others. Starting with the premise that quality and ease of use are paramount, we selected the finest materials available for use in making the Liberty Cane.

The handle is manufactured using a two step molding process. The first step uses a long fiber nylon material for strength and durability. The second process step (called an over-mold) embeds a soft non-slip coating over the base material resulting in a very comfortable grip. The texture of the over-mold also prevents the cane from sliding when it is resting against a wall. The color of the handle is embedded into a polycarbonate material ensuring that the color will not fade or peel. The handle has two storage areas and accomodates a wrist strap.

  • A spoon like compartment in the front that is designed to accept various types of snap-in modules. Please click here (Electronics Module) to see what options are available at this time.
  • A rear opening that houses the Emergency Assistance Grip (How to Use the Emergency Assistance Grip). The Emergency Assistance Grip is made of stainless steel with a black polycarbonate knob molded onto a groove in the stainless steel to ensure a permanent adhesion.
  • The wrist strap is made of high density flat polyester webbing.

The shaft comes in various lengths to allow for correct fitting. The shaft is made of a light weight aircraft aluminum that will easily support any user who weighs up to 500 pounds. The shaft opening for the Emergency Assistance Grip has a stainless steel insert and is grooved to guide the Emergency Assistance Grip into the shaft. A soft black powder-coat finish is applied to all shaft surfaces.

The foot is made of two materials that are molded together to ensure permanent adhesion. The top part of the foot is made of a polycarbonate material and the bottom part of the foot (or sole) is made of solid white rubber. The color of the top part of the foot matches the handle and it is embedded into a polycarbonate material. The sole has a field-tested tread design that has proven to be extremely effective in preventing slippage on wet surfaces.

The advanced design of the Liberty Cane coupled with the material selections and manufacturing processes described above make the Liberty Cane a far superior product to any traditional cane. In summary, the Liberty Cane will greatly enhance the lifestyle of any individual who needs assistance in walking. It is indeed the world's finest walking stick!!!
