Custom Fitting
We offer you three ways to select a cane length that best fits you.
Method One - Measurement (Our Recommended Method)
- Put on your "every-day" walking shoes.
- Stand naturally and as upright as possible with your arms
resting comfortably at your sides.
- With your hand (the one used to hold the cane) resting at
your side (preferably with the assistance of someone) measure
the distance from the bottom crease of your wrist joint
to the floor.
- Add 1.5 inch to the distance measured. Round this number
off to the nearest whole number. Most likely this number is
between 32 and 37 inches. (If not see NOTE below.)
- Record this number and click "Return to previous page" below.
Method Two - Comparison Technique (Second best way)
- Take your own personal cane that is most comfortable to use and measure
it.
- Round this number off to the nearest whole number and record it.
- If the number is not between 32 and 37 inches, see NOTE below.
- If the number is between 32 and 37 inches click "Return to previous page"
below.
Method Three - Height Technique (Least Desirable but it usually
works). If your height is not listed, see NOTE below.
- Order a 37 inch cane if you are 6'4" to 6'7"
- Order a 36 inch cane if you are 6'0" to 6'3"
- Order a 35 inch cane if you are 5'8" to 5'11"
- Order a 34 inch cane if you are 5'4" to 5'7"
- Order a 33 inch cane if you are 5'0" to 5'3"
- Order a 32 inch cane if you are 4'8" to 4'11"
- Record this number and click "Return to previous page" below.
NOTE: If your required cane length is less than 32 inches or greater
than 37 inches or your height is under 4’8" or over 6’7" we can make you
a custom fitted cane. You will have to pay a little more and wait a bit
longer. If you are interested in a custom cane, follow the instructions
shown in Method One above and then e-mail this information to
sales@libertycane.com. A
sales representative will contact you with cost
information and expected date of delivery.
