Electronic Modules
The Liberty Cane Company is developing a family of Electronic
Modules to further assist users with their daily activities.
Taking advantage of advancements in micro electronic technology
these electronic modules simply snap-in into the spoon like
compartment located in the front part of the Handle. The types
of user assistance being developed include:

- High intensity light source/audible alarm (see Note #1)
- Cellular telephone (emergency call feature set)
- GPS tracker (with software for a home PC or Laptop)
- Universal car door key fob (see Note #2)
The cost of these options has not been determined but they
will be competitively priced and easily affordable.
Note #1: The technology used for our light source was
used during the most recent underwater exploration of the Titanic (Summer 2005).
Note #2: Our experience has shown that one of the most
beneficial things that we can do to assit our cane users with their
daily activities is to provide them with a remote car door opener.
As we continue to work on the development of a universal electronic
door opener, we want you to be able to enter your car without
fumbling in your pocket or purse looking for your keys
while balancing your cane with a package or briefcase in the other
hand. A very simple but effective way of doing this is to use
Velcro to hold your car's current Remote Opener within the cane's electronic
module compartment. Therefore, each cane shipment includes a strip
of Velcro (hook and loop with adhesives on both) and a set of
instructions on how to apply.
